Switching Medigap Plans in Colorado
Have you already purchased a Medicare Supplement Policy in Colorado but want to change it for some reason? You can do so, but be aware that it won’t be easy since this state does not have the Birthday Rule. In your state, AEP Open Enrollment (October 15 to December 7) doesn’t apply to Medigap plans. Switching generally requires medical underwriting.
In the new Med Supp application, you’ll answer around 20 health-related questions. Based on your responses, you might be approved at the best possible rate, or a higher one may apply. Certain pre-existing conditions may make you ineligible for the new plan. If you’re in this situation, you can call 800-930-7956, and a member of the Senior65.com team will provide free advice. It’s important not to cancel your old policy until you have secured a new one. Read more in our comprehensive article, “Medicare Insurance Switching: Ultimate Guide.”
